Who are we?
Bryn Tirion Hall is an Independent Residential Children’s Home and School. We provide residential places for up to ten young persons from the ages of 7 to 18 with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD), social difficulties (SEBD) and associated learning difficulties including ASD. In addition we provide day placements for a further eight young persons. At Bryn Tirion Hall we provide an effective and supportive home and school environment, which allows young people to develop as individuals and helps them to deal with past and present difficulties.
What we offer
The home and school offers a range of services that include 52 week care and education, 38 week term time weekly boarding, emergency placements as well as day education provision. The young people usually have Statements of Special Educational Needs that are related to their emotional, social, educational and behavioural difficulties. All staff have an extensive background in the care and education of young people with these and associated difficulties.
Behaviour Management
We run a very visible reward and sanction scheme that is a major part of Bryn Tirion Hall life. Young people see tangible results in changing their behaviour and for following staff expectations. Through consistent application of the behaviour support system they also recognise the results of inappropriate behaviour.
Care
At Bryn Tirion Hall, we operate a family style unit where young people are encouraged to recognise their difficulties and improve their patterns of behaviour. We appreciate that each young person brings with them their own unique life experiences and as such treat each as individuals. It is our aim to look after the young person, not the perceived problem. We endeavour to meet the needs of the young person through our own internal resources or through consultation and working in partnership with Local Authorities, their Social Worker, family and significant others.
Education
At Bryn Tirion Hall the role of education is seen as a very important part of helping young people to succeed. The overall aim of the school is to promote personal achievement and the realisation of each young person’s potential. The educational provision at Bryn Tirion gives each young person the opportunity to learn in a calm and supportive environment and to enjoy individual attention to address specific learning difficulties.
Staffing
Bryn Tirion Hall is committed to offering the highest possible standards of education and care for the young people. All members of the SMT have extensive experience in the care and or education of young people with SEBD.
